A study in the UK has shown that 60 per cent of male drivers and 12 per cent of female drivers admit to taking their eyes off the road to admire an attractive member of the opposite sex.

This is thought to lead to almost a million accidents a year.

Meanwhile in China a woman has succeeded in cutting accident figures by tying a blow-up sex doll to a tree at an accident blackspot near her home.

Lin Chen says that drivers slow down to take a better look at the doll, which she has dressed in sexy red undies.

Police agree that accident figures have dropped: "It isn't a method we would use, but we can't say it isn't working," a spokesman said.
