STRESS

According to research in 2006, visiting an art gallery can be very beneficial to people suffering from stress.

A group of 28 highly stressed City of London high-fliers were studied by psychologists at the University of Westminster as they visited the Guildhall Art Gallery during their lunch hour.

After 40 minutes wandering round the Gallery, their self-reported stress levels fell by 45%. Saliva samples from the men and women were also found to contain 32% less cortisol stress hormone than they did before the visit.
