In 2008, South Korea introduced a new blue logo for its hot spring spas to remove any confusion about the types of services they offered

The new sign replaced a nearly century-old red icon of a circle with rising wisps of steam which was being by 'love motels', which offer prostitution or short stays for couples having extramarital relations.

The new logo depicts waves of water with two circles symbolizing the heads of a father and son amid rising steam.

The Shady Lady Ranch, a brothel in Nevada, successfully won state and county approval to clear the way for hiring the state's first male prostitute in January 2010.

The male prostitute, referred to as a 'prostidude' is known as "Markus" and had a former brief career as a porn actor in Los Angeles.
