HULK, The Incredible

According to calculations by Rhett Allain, Assistant Professor of Physics at Southeastern Louisiana University, when Dr Bruce Banner turns into the Hulk, he increases in bulk from about 70kg to almost 300kg.

Making the reasonable assumption that this extra mass has its source in energy, he calculated that it would take around 2.5 minutes of the total energy the Earth receives from the Sun in order to accomplish the transformation.

He also calculates that in jumping some 400ft as the Hulk does in the latest The Avengers film, the force his feet would exert on the pavement when taking off would probably crack the concrete.
