CARPENTRY

A woman from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe filed for divorce in 2012 after consulting a carpenter over her broken marital bed.

The carpenter told her that "judging by the way it was broken, something excessive might have been happening".

The woman said that she had twice previously caught her husband having sex with other women and that her life had been "a living hell" in her eight years of marriage.

"He broke the bed not having sex with me but another woman," she said. "I cannot take this any more."

She accordingly asked a magistrate to dissolve her marriage and make her husband pay $200 to mend the bed.

Her husband said that the bottom line is that he has no money.
